The incredible inlay work on this bass was executed by
the renowned guitar inlay artist (and Alembic employee at
the time) Larry Robinson when Alembic was conveniently located
across the street from Mooka’s first studio in Cotati.
This weighty behemoth has a purple heart core, and the top
and back are laminates of rock maple and Madagascar ebony.
The hardware includes a custom brass bridge, and a custom
brass rail assembly for the Alembic Series I pickups that
allow them to be repositioned at will. Mooka has owned this
bass for quite a while, but wanted to include it in this showcase
because of the instrument’s incredible physical beauty.
