Early ‘70s Martin “D35” employee instrument

Not technically a production model, this guitar is a rather special and unique instrument. It was a Martin employee’s guitar, built from a neck, back, sides, and top hand-selected by the employee himself straight off the production line. Consequently, while the guitar has the standard accoutrements of the D35 model, it has a bass extension more reminiscent of a D28, yet subtly mutated by the D35’s trademark 3-piece back.
