In Martin’s dreadnought series of guitars, the higher
numbers following the “D” designation indicated
not only more luxurious visual appointments, but also different
construction and sound. Thus the D35, like the D28, featured
rosewood back and sides, but with a unique three-piece back
that rolled off the extended bass of the D28 and produced
a more defined top end. This guitar was recently refurbished
by luthier Mike Dolan, bringing it to a new level of playability,
sound, and collectibility. *This guitar is a collector’s
