1960’s Teisco solid body

When this guitar was built, the Japanese guitar maker Teisco was one of a number of manufacturers providing guitars to Sears for sale under their “Silvertone” brand name. Though built and sold on the cheap, the Silvertones made by Danelectro, Harmony, Kay, National-Dobro, and Teisco have attracted the attention of first players, and lately even collectors, for their decidedly unpolished, rock and roll sound. This particular model has a short scale and a dirty, nasty sound from pickups rumored to be favored by Ry Cooder for some of his axes. Setup by Michael Dolan.
